Introducing KTJ

Greetings SGN community! I am proud to be working with you all. Since July I have been working with the core team and recently have begun traveling with Gabriel and Camp Darfur. My background is in community development and organizing and I am eager to share these skills with you and the community of Darfurians we are connected to in Chad. If you are interested in increasing your involvement with Darfur, i-ACT, Camp Darfur, or i-ACT Forward – our schools project – please do not hesitate to email me directly at katiejay[dot]scott[at]gmail[dot]com. I cannot wait to meet you and work together to end the violence in Darfur and help those who are displaced return to a safe Darfur.

Katie-Jay keeps i-ACT running on several levels. Much of her work entails coordinating partnerships with other grassroots organizations and implementing the campaigns developed by Gabriel and seeing through the details. She graduated from Portland State University with a BA in Sociology and a focus on Community Development. She has previously worked as a community organizer in Thailand, Guatemala, and with grassroots organizations across the United States.
