We should be telling our leaders and the world that it is the responsibility of the government of Sudan to protect UN-AU Peacekeepers in their country. If violence towards them and other humanitarian aid workers increases with recent evidence brought against President al-Bashir, then war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetuated by the government of Sudan will be even more evident. As said in a report by ENOUGH, “Holding people accountable for war crimes is not only the right thing to do from a moral perspective—it directly promotes peace and makes future such abuses less likely.”
Take action by telling Secretary Condoleeza Rice (or find your leaders here) that we should support the ICC and recent charges of genocide against al-Bashir.
