Starting to Rebuild a Stronger Darfur
On our trips to the Darfuri refugee camps on the Chad-Darfur border, the need for Secondary Schools has come up again and again. In response to the great need to continue the primary education system in place at the camps, Stop Genocide Now in partnership with communities and individuals around the world will assist the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees in bringing secondary education there. We are starting our efforts at Camp Farchana and Camp Kounoungo.
The estimated cost of a secondary school (provided by UNHCR)
- Construction = $25,000
- Education Tools for 20 Students = $2,000
- Incentives for 13 staff members = $17,000
- Miscellaneous Supplies = $6,000
Total YR 1 = $50,000 USD
Total YR 2 = $30,000 USD

Donations will go directly to USA for UNHCR, a US based non-profit, and will be 100% tax-deductible. USA for UNHCR will target these donations to go towards secondary education at camps SGN has helped to identify. All funds will go towards the secondary school project, and none of it will be used by SGN. We will make note of donations and immediately forward checks to USA for UNHCR.
