Invisible, Forgotten, and Suffering: Darfuri Refugees in Eastern Chad

In the article below Eric Reeves elaborates on the situation of the Darfuri refugees in Eastern Chad. Eric Reeves is a Professor of English Language and Literature at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts and has been writing about Sudan for more than 16 years.

Reeves makes the case that the UN has to make emergency distributions of food and other basic humanitarian supplies to Darfuri refugees and other distressed populations inside Darfur. To encourage peace and give ending violence a chance, he finds that “hose same EU countries willing to pay off Khartoum for short-term gains should instead impose the kind of tough economic and financial sanctions the U.S. has imposed.”
